The Five Basic Reactions Types

There are five common types of reactions that we will be dealing with here.

(There are more, most notably redox reactions and organic reactions) but these five will get you pretty far.

The five types of reactions are
For each type of reaction, you must be able to recognize the reaction type, you must be able to complete the reaction (that is you must be able to determine the products of the reaction if you are given the reactants), and you must be able to balance them.

In addition you should be able to determine (using the appropriate resource) whether or not double displacement reactions will occur in the lab and whether or not single displacement reactions will occur.
