Sucking in your cheeks
Sucking in your cheeks is essentially the same as the first half of drinking from a straw (so make sure you understand that first).
Just as when you use a straw, sucking in your cheeks is done by lowering your jaw. This action increases the volume of your mouth and,thus, decreases the pressure. As a result, the atmosphere is pushing in on your cheeks harder than the air in your mouth is pushing out and your cheeks are pushed in.
