How Lewis Dealt with More Complex Molecules

Okay, that last one (SO4-2) wasn't really fair.

There are certain molecules and ions whose complexity makes the basic outline of LDS's described before seem really insufficient. For those molecules, we can follow a more complete (but also more complex) set of rules to arrive at the LDS. 

These rules ALWAYS work, but they take more effort and more time than working with the general outline above, which is why we have put it off until now.
